    St. David's Day Dinner 2011

Draig Werdd held a dinner at the Hotel Alexander in Dublin on March 5th to celebrate St. David's Day for 2011.  Guest speaker was the former Wales and Lions rugby captain John Dawes.   On the 40th anniversary of his leading Wales to the Grand Slam and the Lions to victory in New Zealand, John spoke with humour and warmth of those events and of his experiences of visiting Welsh societies around the world.  A large number was in attendance to hear his contribution to a hugely enjoyable evening which also included musical numbers from members of the Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir, ending with the singing of Hen Wlad fy Nhadau.

Some photos of the evening are shown below.   Click on a thumbnail to enlarge any of the photos.
